The terms of using Tastefuel.

The rules for using the app, written to be read, not skimmed past.

These terms are an agreement between you and Tastefuel ("we", "us") for using the Tastefuel app and website. By creating an account or using Tastefuel, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Tastefuel.

01Using Tastefuel

  • You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
  • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Tastefuel is offered as is and may change. Features, including beta features, can be added, changed or removed.

02Nutrition and health disclaimer

Tastefuel gives general cooking and nutrition information, not medical, dietary or health advice. It isn't a substitute for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have specific dietary needs.

Calories, macros and portions are estimates. Recipes are written and checked partly by artificial intelligence and can contain mistakes, including in ingredients, quantities, cooking times and temperatures.

Allergies and diets: we filter recipes by the diets and allergies you tell us, but we can't guarantee any recipe or product is free of an allergen or suits a diet. Always read ingredient labels, check that food is cooked safely, and use your own judgment. If you have a serious allergy, verify every ingredient yourself.

03The AI chef and acceptable use

  • The AI chef is for food, cooking and nutrition. Messages about other topics get a short reply asking you to keep it about food.
  • Don't use Tastefuel to create harmful, illegal, hateful, sexual or violent content, to harass anyone, or to try to get around our safety rules or limits.
  • Messages are checked automatically. Repeated harmful messages can pause your AI chef for 24 hours, and we may turn it off for accounts that keep breaking these rules. Your feed and recipes keep working.
  • Don't misuse the service: no scraping, automated access, reverse engineering, overloading our systems, or creating accounts to get around limits or trials.

04Plans, trials and subscriptions

  • Tastefuel has a free plan and Tastefuel Pro, which adds AI features. Daily limits apply to some features on every plan.
  • Pro may be offered with a free trial. Accounts that sign up with email need to confirm their address first. Each account can use the trial once.
  • When paid subscriptions are available, they'll be sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, will renew automatically until you cancel, and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds follow Apple's or Google's policies. Prices are shown before you buy.

05Your content

You keep ownership of what you send us, such as messages, photos and feedback. You give us permission to use it to provide and improve Tastefuel, as described in our privacy policy. If you send ideas or feedback, we're free to use them without any obligation to you.

06Our content

Tastefuel, including its recipes, design, text and photos, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use the recipes for your own personal cooking. Don't copy, sell or republish them as a collection or service.

07Third-party services

Tastefuel relies on services such as Apple, Google, OpenAI and our hosting providers. Their own terms apply to your use of their services, and we aren't responsible for them.

08Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as the disclaimers and limits of liability, continue to apply.

09Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tastefuel is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on recipes, nutrition information or AI responses. Where our liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

10Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Canada, unless the consumer laws where you live give you the right to bring a claim locally.

11Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app. If you keep using Tastefuel after an update, the new terms apply.
